THE CARAVAN MOVES ON
return to Tasmanian Gothic Home Page
Thirty years ago Tasmania's mistress of the strange held her first solo exhibition. To celebrate, she has produced a book of paintings spanning her entire career to date. This brand new hard-cover book, The Caravan Moves On contains a selection of photographs of one hundred of Elizabeth Barsham's stunningly beautiful paintings. With a foreword by comedian, playwright and academic Dr Katherine Phelps, introduction by cartoonist Chris Kelly and descriptive text by the artist. A special feature is the final section in which Elizabeth reveals her choice of painting materials and explains her approach to composing and creating a painting, with photographs of various steps in the process.
